HI there! I'm Mercedes, the creator behind the sparkles and shine you'll find here. I live in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania with my husband and my stepson (the 'C' and the other 'M' of MCM 🙂). I'm an engineer by day and a furious crafter by night. I've always been drawn to the art of crafting, and there's something truly magical about turning clay, beads, wires, and gemstones into wearable pieces of art.
At Marketplace MCM, each piece of jewelry is lovingly handcrafted with care and attention to detail. Whether it's a delicate necklace, a statement bracelet, or a pair of earrings that catches your eye, just know that it's been crafted with passion and dedication.
I started making jewelry as a hobby towards the end of the pandemic, but it quickly turned into a love affair. There's just something so special about knowing that each piece I create has its own story to tell. From the initial idea to the final finishing touches, I pour my heart and soul into every step of the process.
But it's not just about the jewelry here—it's about the connection. I want you to feel like you're part of a community, where creativity knows no bounds and where every piece is as unique as the person wearing it. Many of the pieces I make come from a place of love and passion; whether it be a pair of earrings inspired by my love of the Disney parks, or a rainbow necklace inspired by my deep connection to the LGBTQ+ community, every item I craft is meaningful.
